Does the Y2000 work with both fingerprint and passcode? +
Yes. The EZVIZ Smart Lock Y2000 supports multiple unlock methods, including fingerprint, PIN code, proximity cards, mechanical key and control through the EZVIZ App. You can set up different options for each family member or guest.
What happens if the batteries run out? +
The lock is powered by AA batteries and the EZVIZ App will show you the battery level and low-battery alerts in advance. If the batteries are completely drained, you can still unlock the door using the mechanical key or temporarily power the lock via the USB-C port with a power bank.
Is professional installation required? +
For the best result, we strongly recommend professional installation, especially if you are not familiar with mortise locks or do not have the right tools. Customers who used the authorized installer report a clean finish, proper configuration and access to extended warranty.
Can I control the lock from my phone? +
Yes. Once connected to Wi-Fi, you can use the EZVIZ App to lock and unlock remotely, manage users, create temporary PIN codes for guests or services, and view the event history of who accessed your door and when.
What if my Wi-Fi connection is unstable? +
The lock continues to work locally even if Wi-Fi is unstable or temporarily offline. Fingerprints, PIN codes, cards and mechanical keys will still function normally. Wi-Fi is mainly used for remote management and notifications through the app.
How secure is the fingerprint sensor? +
The fingerprint sensor is highly sensitive and designed for quick, accurate recognition. You can register multiple fingerprints and delete or update them at any time in the app, ensuring that only trusted people can unlock the door.
Does the lock have protection against code spying? +
Yes. The Y2000 includes anti-peeping protection for PIN codes. You can enter random digits before and after your real code, so people standing nearby cannot easily guess your password by watching the keypad.
Is there a child safety or auto-lock function? +
The smart lock includes child safety features and an auto-lock function. This helps prevent children from opening the door on their own and makes sure the door locks automatically after closing, reducing the risk of leaving it unlocked by mistake.
